Thought for the Week: Newborn Baby Found in Plastic Bag

We were all shocked and saddened to hear about the newborn baby found in a plastic bag in our own area: South East London. Before we rush to condemn the mother we should remember that we know nothing about her background – was she the daughter of an MP too afraid to tell people about her pregnancy? What do we know is that are similar cases found in the Bible?

Moses was found abandoned in the bull rushes and was secretly cared for by his true mother, and of course Jesus was born in a stable.

God works in a miraculous way to achieve a purpose. This abandoned child might be used to achieve a purpose unknown to us.
